Hello my beautiful friend,
Sometimes
when we get a diagnosis of cancer, we may feel like our lives are over. After
going through chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, and suffering
the aftereffects of those treatments, we may feel that our lives are no longer
our own. That we are a shadow of what we used to be. Despite my own struggles
in coming to terms with my “new normal”, I choose to turn them into a positive.
I allowed those experiences to refine me, not define me. Having gone through
those experiences have allowed me to pinpoint exactly what I want out of life
and given me the courage to pursue new opportunities that I wouldn’t have dared
to dream for myself.
Recently,
I have gone through a season of change. I decided to pursue continued education
with the goal of being able to work from home. I feel that my energy is extremely
limited since treatment. It doesn’t take much for me to wear out, and then feel
useless to take care of what truly matters. If I worked from home, I feel like
I could conserve my energy. I would have more stamina to take care of house
chores, and more importantly to feed myself spiritually. I saw Jehovah’s hand
at work as He blessed me with the circumstances to achieve my new goal. It was
so faith strengthening as I saw everything falling into place.
Don’t
ever let your diagnosis make you feel like you can’t live your life. Your life
may not look like you had originally imagined, but that doesn’t have to be a
bad thing. I only dreamed of the possibility of working from home; NEVER
thinking it could be a reality. Nothing is out of reach for Jehovah, and when
we put His kingdom and will first in our life, sometimes He will hand-pick
blessings for us.
Much love,
Laryssa
